“The threats (from the empire) are the challenge for the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). It is a challenge for the institutions, for the States and the democracies, for the sovereignty of the sovereign States”, expressed this Thursday the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, during the ceremony to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the component GNB military.
In the military ceremony, where the videoconference message from President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the high-ranking military officer, was broadcast, he highlighted the call by the Commander-in-Chief of the FANB to be vigilant against attacks directed from abroad, especially from the imperial regime that governs the US and the now outgoing government of Colombia.
“We must make our FANB a more professional institution, more capable and up-to-date in science and technology to face new forms of war,” urged the Sector Vice President for Sovereignty and Peace, from the Patio of Honor of the Military University Bolivariana of Venezuela, in Fort Tina, Caracas.
He recalled the various attacks, frustrated assassinations and coup attempts that have been defeated one after another, but warned about the recurrent efforts of the enemies of the Venezuelan Homeland.
“When the homeland is being reborn, shining again and following a defined path and course of resurgence, happiness and prosperity, the hegemon is there, it has not moved and the threats continue (…) They attack with new forms of colonialism. A neo-colonialism is imposed on the world (…) The imperialist arrogance to continue subjugating and bringing war to the world”, he denounced.
He stated that on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the GNB, the component has been assimilated into the FANB thanks to the Bolivarian Military Doctrine promoted by Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, to consolidate humanism and the defensive nature of peace and national freedom.
“Never again that dark episode of 1989 and the attempts to divide us from within and from without,” he warned, referring especially to the Caracazo massacre in February in the 1980s.
“We are auditable morally, institutionally, professionally and also in substantive leaps that we have made in respect of Human Rights, every day more fine-tuned and fine-tuned the performance of all our FANB to respect the rights of the people.”
He congratulated the current and former officers of the GNB, their professional staff and the entire military component, for their dedication, sacrifice and defense of the homeland, independence and the people.
“If someone in the world asks how Venezuela is doing to defend peace, sovereignty, its national independence, we have only one answer to the surface: the civic-military union.”
“Three key words and it will always be permanent: civic-military union, to face threats, conquer dreams of freedom and defend our territory and integrity,” he concluded.
