Padrino López: Institutions in Venezuela are doing their job

Vladimir Padrino López said that the country is at peace thanks to the joint efforts of the authorities and blamed the opposition for the “violence.” He asserted that the institutions in the country fulfill their functions.

The Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, assured this Thursday, August 22, that the institutions in Venezuela are fulfilling their functions; this in reference to the sentence issued earlier by the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice on the presidential elections.

Through your account on InstagramPadrino López said that the country is at peace thanks to the joint efforts of the authorities, but expressed that one cannot forget the “violent” demonstrations that took place after July 28 in which 27 people died, according to figures from the Prosecutor’s Office, also blaming “a fascist sector” for having orchestrated them.

He also rejected statements from abroad against officials and institutions, as well as “the planning of new mercenary actions, the open support that far-right factors have given to criminal gangs and cyber criminals.”

Vladimir Padrino López recalled his words from days ago, when he pointed out that an opposition sector wanted to attribute functions to the Plan República that do not correspond to it.

On July 24, General General Vladimir Padrino López stated that the National Armed Forces have defined functions regarding elections and that these have no relation to those of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

He insisted on the idea that there is an intention to “replace the democratic voting system” through opinion polls or surveys on the elections and possible winning candidates in the contest.

In his opinion, they are part of actions that seek to undermine the country’s institutions because they try to hold the National Armed Forces responsible for a certain result, as if seeking to undermine the independence of the CNE in the process and who must announce the results of the election.

“It is not up to us to say whether there was fraud or not,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense.

Unsurprisingly, the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) validated thisand Thursday, August 22 the results issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which give the victory of the presidential elections to the ruler Nicolás Maduro.

In a ruling, read by the judge and president of the Chamber, Caryslia Beatriz Rodríguez, a “massive cyber attack against the electoral system” was confirmed, as well as the results of the “final report” delivered on August 20 by the experts hired by the TSJ for this purpose.

“Based on the results obtained in the expert process, we can conclude that the bulletins issued by the National Electoral Council regarding the 2024 presidential election are supported by the vote counting records issued by each of the voting machines deployed in the electoral process, and likewise these records fully coincide with the records in the databases of the national totalization centers,” says the report, an issue that was ratified by the TSJ.
