Padrino López has warned that the most susceptible region is the Indo-Pacific, after the attacks, sanctions and threats of interference from the US
At present, there is a need to specify a new order multipolar world, humanity implores it, stressed this Friday the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López.
Faced with the continuous attacks, sanctions and threats of interference from the North American empire, Padrino López warned through his account on the social network Twitter that “for more than 3 years; the region most susceptible to uncontrollable escalation is the Indo-Pacific.”
These statements by the Venezuelan Minister for Defense come after the decision of the United States (USA) to reinforce its military power in the Philippines amid tensions with China.
«We have warned it for more than 3 years; the region most susceptible to uncontrollable escalation is the Indo-Pacific. Those who conceive of peace as a state of permanent threat do nothing more than play with fire. Humanity implores for a New Order! That it must be multipolar,” Padrino López published on Twitter.
US seeks to expand military might
The United States and the Philippines announced Thursday an expansion of the US military presence in the Southeast Asian country.
With this new decision, US forces will have expanded access to military bases in the Philippines. Specifically, they will have access to four additional military camps.
This agreement was finalized during the visit of the Secretary of Defense of the United States, Lloyd Austin.
Protests in the Philippines
Following the US-Philippines decision to expand US military forces on Philippine soil, dozens of activists demonstrated against US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s February 2 visit to Manila.
“The Filipino people do not need more US soldiers and military installations in the country. That will only serve to increase tensions in the South China Sea and Taiwan Strait. And the deployment of more US military and bases in the country will drag the Philippines into a conflict that is between China and the United States,” said Teddy Casiño, a former legislator from the leftist Bayan Muna party, referring to a note from Sputnik.
