The sectoral vice president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, ratified the demand that the Venezuelan people make to the United States Government to release President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady Cilia Flores.
Two months after his kidnapping, after the US military incursion that claimed the lives of more than 100 people and caused damage to various infrastructures – civil and military -, Padrino López has said that “the wounds can only be healed with the release of our constitutional president and his wife.”
He maintained that justice, humanity, the conscience of the people of Venezuela and its Bolivarian National Armed Forces wish for this step to be carried out.
By publication through his social networks, the Minister for Defense also indicated that, despite the fact that Venezuela has opened a new stage of struggle under the principles of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, with the United States, it is necessary to move towards the end of the sanctions “that mercifully oppress our people.”
“Venezuela deserves to begin a path of prosperity and happiness, in the midst of democratic processes and national reconciliation that guarantee the peace and stability of the country,” added the minister, after reiterating the request to release the presidential couple.
