Padrino López asserted that the National Armed Forces will not allow a “government that is kneeling, a slave, genuflecting the interests of the United States of America, never more slaves, we are a free country,” he said.

The Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, stated this Friday, October 24, that the air-naval deployment that the United States has in the Caribbean “is getting closer every day” to the Venezuelan coasts.

“We are facing the worst threat in more than 100 years… We are here unwavering, determined and very defined to continue defending every centimeter of our sovereignty and that is why we are preparing every day,” Padrino said during an event from the Military Hospital.

He described as ignorant those who call for invasions or war in Venezuela. «Calling for war is an imbecile act, of supreme ignorance. “Those who call for war have no idea what that means.”

Padrino López asserted that the National Armed Forces will not allow a “government on its knees, a slave, genuflecting the interests of the United States of America, but never slaves, we are a free country.”

The soldier stressed that they do not want there to be war in Venezuela or in the world and said that they remain vigilant against any event.

This Friday the 24th, the main spokesman for the United States Department of War, Sean Parnell, reported the deployment of the Strike Group of the Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier to the Caribbean Sea, with the aim of contributing to the fight against drug trafficking cartels that President Donald Trump deployed in international waters since mid-August.

In a statementreleased by Parnell, it was indicated that the presence of the USS Gerald R. Ford – the largest and most advanced aircraft carrier of the US Navy – will reinforce the troops deployed in the Caribbean and increase the capacity to “detect, monitor and neutralize illicit actors and activities that put the security and prosperity of the US territory and the stability of the Western Hemisphere at risk.”

The United States government has accused Nicolás Maduro and his close collaborators of leading the Cartel of the Suns and of bringing drugs to their country, an accusation that Miraflores rejects.
