The sectoral vice president of Defense and Sovereignty, GJ Vladimir Padrino López, pointed out that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) has designed efficient strategies to combat drug trafficking.
Padrino offered a balance in this regard and said that 421 aircraft associated with drug trafficking have been neutralized between 2012 and 2025, and that they intended to violate Venezuelan airspace, land in national territory and lend themselves to the dynamics of drug trafficking, as well as “extract drugs produced in Colombia.”
He stated that in 2025, 30 aircraft were neutralized, while congratulating the family of the Aerospace Command, “its gunners, aviators, controllers, the entire exploration and surveillance system, the General Staff of the Aerospace Defense Command,” he stated.
He said that the Fanb is more cohesive and united in this current situation.
He referred to the ongoing exercise of the Aerospace Defense Command, in Higuerote, Miranda state, which was carried out successfully this Friday.
He asserted that Venezuela is prepared and has the necessary capacity to defend the security and territorial integrity of the nation.
He said that operation, synchronization is guaranteed and the Navy participates.
He assured that there is great progress regarding the Fanb’s Ayacucho Transformation Plan, which is already 67% complete in development in terms of rethinking the weapons system, doctrine, procedures, among others. “We are on very prodigious paths in the development of new technologies.”
He stressed that sophisticated and demanding equipment has been recovered from the point of view of science and technology.
