The Minister of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic, Alexandre Padilha, said this Monday afternoon (16) that the government’s expectation is to vote on the Tax Reform this week and, by the end of the year, the Fiscal Framework. Padilha gave an interview after meeting with the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in the capital of São Paulo, where Lula is recovering from the medical procedures to which he was subjected last week.
“We treat [na reunião] on Congress’s agenda this week: absolute priority to vote on Tax Reform. Positive expectation that the discussion in the Chamber can begin today”, said Padilha.
The minister also highlighted that he brought President Lula information about the voting process for the Fiscal Framework in the National Congress. “I reported to the president how the dialogue is going with the rapporteurs of the bills that consolidate the Fiscal Framework, which is the government’s second priority this week,” he said.
“I reported once again the commitment of the president of both houses, both the Chamber and the Senate, to work to vote and conclude the vote this year on the measures that consolidate the Fiscal Framework, which consolidates this good moment of economic growth in the country” , he added.
Padilha also said that Lula is in good health and working normally. “He is very active, continues with his activities, contacting ministers, sanctioning what needs to be sanctioned within the deadline,” he said. “If necessary, he will always be available to participate in any dialogue, not only with the National Congress, but with other actors as well. the president continues to be active leading the government,” he said,” he added.
