Paco Carreira: “The last name Torrijos is too big for a few people in Panama”

Angel Valdes | March 13, 2023

The presidential candidate for free nomination, Francisco Carreira, in an interview with Radio Panama, referred to current national politics and how the issue of collecting signatures for candidates seeking to be candidates for the Presidency of the Republic is going.

For Carreira, the statement of former president Martín Torrijos where he confirmed his intentions to run in the 2024 elections, is more of the same «Former president Torrijos has spent ten years in silence and now it turns out that the internal situations of the PRD is a reflection of how he is doing the government, now there are members of that party not only running as independents, but also a former president who wants to go it alone and this creates a situation for his party and they must resolve it, it surprises me a bit, I think the last name Torrijos They are too big for a few people in Panama ».

Regarding the collection of signatures for free application candidates, Carreira said that things have been improving “I don’t think there is really a complaint about what the system really is that like any human system it can be improved, but at the moment I think it is the same For everyone, access to the signature, support is what counts here and that is what all the candidates are looking for.
