The final of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, better known as Copinha, scheduled for next Saturday (25), will be held at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu stadium, with the obtaining of a temporary permit. There was uncertainty as to where the game would take place until this Monday (20), when the city of São Paulo formalized the authorization.
According to the Municipal Department of Urban Planning and Licensing (SMUL), it is estimated that 20 thousand fans will occupy the stands to watch the match. The clubs are now competing in the semi-finals.
The city hall did not comment on why it did not issue the final permit. In a note, he stated that the secretariat issued the permit in accordance with Decree 49,969/08 which requires, among several documents, certificates or terms of technical commitment that prove the functioning of the security system.
On Tuesday night (21), the teams from Criciúma-SC and São Paulo will face each other on the pitch, in Araraquara. Tomorrow (22) it will be the turn of the semi-final between Grêmio-RS and Corinthians.
Every year, the Copinha games are held from January 2nd to 25th. The teams are divided into 32 groups.
The Allegra concessionaire is currently responsible for managing the Pacaembu Complex. With the victory in the bid, the company was able to operate the equipment for 35 years, for a total value of R$111 million. In return, it was also established that the concessionaire should promote improvements to the structure. Points that make up the sports complex, such as Praça Charles Miller and the Football Museum, were left out of the concession.
