Palermo is called after the famous Colombian drug trafficker due to the lifestyle he led. The man has been held since August in the El Milagro prison, in Trujillo, where he is serving a preventive prison sentence for 36 months.
‘Pablo Escobar de Pataz’ is accused of leading ‘Los Parqueros de Pataz’, who are accused of homicides, illegal mining, among other crimes, as well as systematic attacks on the Poderosa mining company.
During the mega operation in the facilities of pavilion 14, INPE agents found cell phones that would have been used to send messages to the members of the criminal gang, who are fugitives from justice.
Months ago, the Police arrested members of the main group of the criminal organization, which carries out work in different areas of Pataz.
Palermo would have threatened workers and members of the Penitentiary Technical Council after the operation. In that sense, he was removed from his pavilion and transferred to a special high surveillance area, according to RPP.
The Police reported that the criminal actions of ‘Los Parqueros de Pataz’ allowed the criminal gang to amass more than S/ 80 million.
