The president of the National Chamber of Tourism of Panama (Camtur), Ovidio Díaz, referred this Wednesday to the request that was made two weeks ago to the Ministry of Health (Minsa) to hold carnivals next year.
According to Díaz, the reason why they are clamoring for this party to be held is because the citizens showed that they behaved appropriately during the pandemic, most citizens have their doses of vaccines. In turn, he took the opportunity to ask the Minsa to lift any other measure that currently exists.
“We believe, in the tourism sector, that the measures, the comments, should be eliminated once and for all, because they do not favor the development or recovery of the tourism industry in the country,” he specified.
The president of Camtur indicated that anyone who wants to go to the carnivals must have or have the entire vaccination schedule, continue to use the mask when required (not mandatory), try by all means to remain calm while safeguarding health public.
“We hope that they are not drastic measures because what this does is that it drives away the intention of the Panamanian, of the tourist, who is going to move to the different areas of the country during the carnivals,” he remarked,
