Alexis Lozano, an outstanding student from the Unión Educational Institution, won S/ 15,000 after finishing second in the National Mathematics Competition, in which more than 29,000 students from Concytec science and technology clubs nationwide participated.

The outstanding student expressed his excitement at having obtained second place, “I worked hard, I discovered a world I didn’t know about and I am grateful for the organization of such an incredible event,” he said. He also received recognition from his school, “recognition of the new 2024 national math champion from Unión School,” was the message they posted on social media.

Renato Gaitán, from IE Prolog, from Metropolitan Lima, took first place with a prize of S/ 50,000. The event was organized by Concytec and Aceros Arequipa, with the aim of promoting the mathematical skills of students in Regular Basic Education, strengthening the development of scientific culture.
