A case of animal abuse has caused outrage among the community of the Álvarez neighborhood in Bucaramanga. Recently, a video that was spread on social networks shows two women forcing their female Pincher dog to consume what appears to be a psychoactive substance. This situation has generated strong rejection among neighbors and animal activists.

In the video, which was apparently posted by the same women, with the description: “I blew on my bitch, and it’s off mode.” The images show one of the women holding the animal, while the other forces it to inhale the substance, even though the dog resists. This aberrant case led many social media users to report the case to the authorities.

Given the complaints, the Police arrived at the home to investigate the incident. According to initial reports, the animal had indeed been drugged. “The dog that was mistreated by forcing her to consume drugs in Bucaramanga is already in the custody of the Animal Welfare Unit of the Bucaramanga Mayor’s Office,” said Jaime Andrés Beltrán, mayor of the Santander capital.

A minor would be one of those responsible for supplying the substance to the dog.
What aggravates the situation even more is that those who would have supplied the substance to the dog are minors. In response, the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) began the relevant investigations.
For his part, the councilor and animal defender, Camilo Machado, explained that “the 14-year-old minor has various quite serious psychosocial and family problems. At this moment he is under the guardianship of his grandmother, and that is why we activated the route with the ICBF and the Childhood and Adolescence Police for complete accompaniment of his entire process.
The authorities have called on the community to continue reporting any type of animal abuse. In addition, they have emphasized the importance of responsibility and respect for animals.
