In addition, 31 patients have already been discharged and remain under home surveillance with medical treatment.
“The health sector maintains follow-up at home through medical brigades and by telephone to all possible cases treated in the hospitals involved, with the aim of detecting in a timely manner and immediately starting treatment for those who require it,” he said.
The doctor explained that one of the patients transferred to the National Institute of Neurology in Mexico City is undergoing medical follow-up through the outpatient clinic of that hospital.
As part of the support for patients and relatives, the Durango government has provided 827 psychological interventions, added David Payán, coordinator of Special Care for Victims of Meningitis and Relatives.
Also, he explained, they maintain contact with the families of the affected patients who are treated at an IMSS hospital in Torreón, Coahuila.
“This support will continue until the health emergency is over,” he said.
