The future Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, reported this morning that after the tests carried out on a regular basis in the work team of the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, they found four confirmed cases of covid-19, including the next Minister of Women and Gender Equity, Antonia Orellana. The former helmsman of the Medical College confirmed an outbreak inside “La Moneda Chica”.
“From the active monitoring that we have carried out periodically in the testing that was carried out yesterday, four of the 16 people who were tested from the active officials who are in “La Moneda Chica”, were positive. That means we have an outbreak, which has been brought to the attention of the health authority. I have communicated with the SEREMI of the Metropolitan Region, they have the contacts and telephone numbers of the people who have been positive. One of the people is the future Minister of Women and Gender Equity”, commented Siches.
He also added that “we have asked all the workers of “La Moneda Chica” to stay in their homes until the epidemiological investigation is concluded and only the President will stay with his chief of staff. We are going to reduce face-to-face activities, all meetings are going to migrate to telematics.”
Finally, he recalled that “starting tomorrow, we are going to start the vacation period for the teams until February 21, the date on which we would return to face-to-face activities. That had to be brought forward one day and from today we are going to reduce the usual activities that were being carried out in this unit”.
