An outbreak of covid-19 was confirmed in a Long-Stay Center for the Elderly (Eleam) in Osorno, which ended with infected residents and officials.
In total, there are 30 people who have tested positive for covid-19. Exactly in the same enclosure where in 2020 Fundación Las Rosas experienced another massive outbreak of infections, which ended with several people dying.
The Seremi (s) of Health of the Lakes region, Marcela Cárdenas, confirmed the information and assured that they will continue with more inquiries in this regard and that those affected are already isolated.
“In the testing carried out yesterday, with the antigen test, 30 positive cases were found, of which 13 are residents and 16 are officials. This coming Friday a new active search will be carried out,” he said.
“As for the staffing, they are working with extraordinary shifts and all the residents are isolated and all the covid protocols have been reinforced,” he added.
Due to this outbreak in the city of Osorno, the health authority established an intersectoral work table to stop this situation and stressed that all residents are being treated every other day by officials from the corresponding Family Health Center.
