The first Minister, Alberto Otárolait was pronounced this Sunday regarding the comments issued by the president Dina Boluarte during his message to the nation, in which he slipped the idea of the existence of alleged “firearms and ammunition” from bolivian among the protesters. On this, Otárola Peñaranda initially avoided speaking, because he did not want to “politicize the issue”; but later he affirmed that “there were indications” to think that this was the case, although he did not justify said affirmations.
“The prosecution You have just declared this investigation as complex, I would be wrong to politicize this issue, what is that we are giving all our trust and all our support to this constitutionally autonomous body to determine the responsibility”, he said in conversation with the Sunday newspaper “Punto final”.
“There are indications of evidence that this has been the case”added the head of the PCM to later add “that there has not only been a transfer of material from Bolivia here, but also systematic and permanent work by some former presidents to not only incite the population, but also speak clearly of insurrection.”
Later, he went on to criticize the statements issued by former Bolivian president Evo Morales, whom he accused of having “talked about an insurrection in the country.” “Oh well, Mr. Evo will not enter the country until the situation changes. And we are, at this moment, dedicated to serving the bridges of dialogue, especially with Puno and Cusco”, he stressed and recalled that the former Bolivian president had been prevented from entering Peruvian territory as a result of his statements on social networks.
Otárola talks about the absence of the governor of Puno in the Palace
On the other hand, Otárola Peñaranda said he felt “shocked” after learning that the governor of Puno, Richard Hancco, refused to participate in the session of Minister council carried out last week.
“The other day I met with almost all the regional governors. And I was really shocked because the Puno governor’s chair was empty. I’m sure this has to change. The governor of Puno has to understand that his region needs to execute this budget in the most efficient and effective way”, he specified.
