The Supervisory Agency for Investment in Public Use Transport Infrastructure (Ositrán) has presented its unified rate proposal for airport use (TUUA), applicable to passengers who make scales in the Jorge Chávez International Airport.
“The TUUA of transfer has been estimated based on the statistical information declared monthly by the concessionaire, the information of its audited regulatory financial statements, as well as the information sent by the concessionaire within the framework of this procedure,” said Ositrán.
It is proposed that this rate remains in force until December 31, 2030, with annual readjustments. As part of the process, Ositrán user service management will convene a public hearing where the methodology used to determine the proposed amounts will be explained, allowing interested parties to send comments and suggestions.
Currently, the transfer Tuua is not charged. However, ADD 6 of the concession contract provides for its application with the start of operations of the new airport terminal, scheduled for March 30.
According to the proposal, Tuua transfer will have the following amounts:
For international flight passengers: US $ 12.49
For national flight passengers: US $ 7.60
According to the tariff fixation procedure, after receiving and evaluating the comments, Ositrán will present its final report establishing the final amount. It is estimated that the collection, through the airlines, would be effective after 126 days.
Lima Airport Partners (LAP) has indicated that, according to addendum 6 of the concession contract, the collection of the transfer tuua is enabled from the operation of the new terminal.
He also indicated that the lack of an agreement with the airlines or a contractual regulation that forces to inform passengers about the amount of the TUUA does not affect their right to proceed with the collection since the beginning of operations of the new passenger terminal .
