Investments in transportation infrastructure reached US$ 325.85 million between January and July 2022, reported today the Management of Supervision and Control of the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Transportation Infrastructure for Public Use (Ositran) in your monthly report.
The greatest dynamism of the investments was reflected in the infrastructure of the Metro with US$ 116.33 million executed by line 2 of the Lima and Callao Metro, followed by the highway sectors with US$ 100.03 million, ports with US$ 82.28 million and airports with capital for US$ 27.20 million, he pointed out.
In this way, the accumulated investment in transportation infrastructure made through the Public-Private Association (APP) mechanism as of July this year totaled US$ 10,311 million, which represented 62.01% of the total investment commitments of the concessionaires, reported .
Regarding the level of progress, that is, accumulated investments versus investment commitments, road infrastructure reaches 95%, followed by capital in ports with 63.4%, railways and lines 1 and 2 of the Lima Metro with 51.7 %, and airports with 22.5%, he added.
Investments by sector
The Ositrán informed that the investments valued in July reached US$ 37.20 million, supported mainly by the capitals of the Jorge Chávez International Airport with the execution of US$ 17.39 million.
The second sector that led the investments made was highways with US$ 15.16 million, highlighting the IIRSA Norte (Paita-Yurimaguas), IIRSA Sur Section 4 (Azángaro-Inambari) and IIRSA SUR Section 5 (Ilo, Matarani-Azángaro) roads. for the execution of additional, accessory and complementary works, he reported.
The category of ports ranked third in investments with US$ 3.12 million in July, highlighting the capital of the new container terminal Muelle Sur del Callao, he said.
The amount of investments of the railways and Lima Metro amounted to US$ 1.51 million driven by the works of Line 2, he noted.
The Ositrán supervises 32 concession contracts that include 16 national highways, 18 airports, eight ports, two railways, lines 1 and 2 of the Lima Metro and a waterway, he said.
