Osinergmin proposes rural electricity rate for non-conventional supplies

The Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining () published today the draft Resolution for the Setting of the Rural Electricity Rate for Non-Conventional Supplies (Photovoltaic Systems) and its application conditions, applicable to the period between August 17, 2022 and August 16, 2026.

Through the Resolution of the Board of Directors of Osinergmin No. 072-2022-Os/Cd, published in El Peruano, it is stipulated that the rural electricity rate will be applied to electricity supplies, belonging to an isolated rural electricity system that is served exclusively by photovoltaic systems.

In addition, it is mentioned that Osinergmin may authorize the application of said rate for non-conventional supplies served with systems of other technologies (wind, biomass, mini hydroelectric or hybrid plants) based on an equivalent performance of said systems (kW.h/month ).

It also considers that the rate will be applied monthly considering the monthly average energy available for each type of module.

The resolution also arranged to convene a virtual public hearing by live transmission (streaming) for the support and presentation, by Osinergmin, of the criteria, methodology and economic models used in the draft resolution setting the rural electricity rate for supplies unconventional (photovoltaic systems), which will take place on May 17 at 3:00 pm.

Finally, the document gives a period of 20 business days from the day after the public hearing for the interested parties to submit their opinions and suggestions in writing to the Osinergmin Tariff Regulation Management, via the electronic window. ()/ or, if enabled, through the physical parts table, located at Avenida Canada No. 1460, San Borja, Lima.
