The Supervisory Body for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) announced the reduction of electricity rates of 1.03% in October for home users, after the corresponding monthly review.
“As of October 4, 2025, the electricity rates of the National Interconnected Electricity System (SEIN) had an average reduction of -1.03% for home users and -0.89% for commercial and industrial users,” he indicated in a statement.
According to the regulator, during this year, as of October 2025, the accumulated variation in household rates in the National Interconnected Electrical System is -6.76%.
Likewise, he indicated that the tariff readjustment in the SEIN responds to the application of the formulas for updating transmission tolls, the Fixed Charge and the Added Distribution Value (VAD). These have registered a variation due to the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), the exchange rate and the prices of copper and aluminum.
On the other hand, the electricity rates of the Isolated Electrical Systems had an average reduction of -0.65% for home users and -0.39% for commercial and industrial users.
In accordance with current regulations, electricity rates are reviewed by Osinergmin every month, based on update formulas and indicator values such as: the IPM, the exchange rate, the price of natural gas, fuel prices, copper and aluminum prices; as well as the contracts signed between generation and distribution companies to provide electricity to users.
