The ungrouped legislator Oscar Zea requested his incorporation to the bench of We can Peru of the Congress of the Republic after issue his irrevocable resignation to Peru Libre for “reasons of principle and conscience”. The former minister is also the eleventh parliamentarian to leave the grouping of the party led by Vladimir Cerron.
Through a letter addressed to the congressman and president of We can Peru, José Luna Gálvez, recently involved in collecting quotas for the award in the lists of aldermen to the mayor of San Juan de Miraflores, Oscar Zea asked to participate in the aforementioned parliamentary group.
“I have the pleasure of addressing you, in order to greet you cordially, and, at the same time, express my interest in being part of the Podemos Peru group, which you have the pleasure of directing and representing from the Legislative Power”, reads the document issued this Wednesday, June 22.

“I am convinced that the current political situation demands that we act responsibly to respond to the citizens who gave us their trust to be represented, focusing on the real problems they face”, added the former head of Agriculture.
With the addition of Oscar Zea, Podemos Peru would have a bench again after having five members. This, after the resignation of Carlos Anderson last March after finding “no satisfaction” in the group of Jose Luna Galvez.
Óscar Zea Choquechambi served as head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) from February 8 to May 22 of this year. He was replaced by Javier Fernando Arce, who resigned due to issues of a “personal nature” after two weeks in office.

Óscar Zea was denounced for two homicides in Puno
According to a report from “Panorama” issued in March of this year, Óscar Zea would have been accused of two homicides when he lived in Puno, many years before being the holder of a ministerial portfolio and tempting a candidacy for Peru Libre, a group with which he came to Parliament.
According to the Sunday Zea Choquechambi would have been arrested for the murder of Paulino Zeballos Huacasi and Edwin Richard Parisuaña Quispe, cases for which he would have been imprisoned. The homicides would have taken place more than 10 years ago, in 1999 and 2006, respectively.
Óscar Zea rejected these accusations under the argument that both cases are already res judicata. He affirmed that he has a sentence from the Judiciary that declares him innocent. Nevertheless, resigned from the Midagri in the middle of an interpellation brought against him by the Congress.
