Óscar Valdés on the Decentralized Councils of Ministers: “It is denaturalizing what a Council of Ministers is”

The former Minister of the Interior, he referred to the What does the president do? only “denaturalizes” these political acts, where it also seeks to promote its Constituent Assembly.

“It is distorting what a Council of Ministers is by leading to populism and in some way political proselytism,” he said in a conversation for P21TV.

“The Council of Ministers normally has an agenda, and this is discussed during the council with a rapporteur minister. After discussion they are removed. Conclusions and then the respective documents, can be a supreme decree, a legislative decree or an emergency decree. In other words, the problems of the country are solved”, explained Valdés.

In that sense, he indicated that Castillo is not the first president to carry out this political act in other regions apart from Lima, as he would have us believe, but rather that it was already done in previous governments and, according to him, they were carried out better.

“I think that the president in this way, leading these Decentralized Councils of Ministers, according to him, a pioneer in these things, when it is not like that, because previous governments have done it and have done it better than them. Knowing the problem above all ”, he indicated.

On the other hand, he assured that the criticism he makes in these events only causes the separation between Peruvians, by criticizing previous governments.

“Not only does it proselytize regarding its Constituent Assembly, but it is dedicated to creating more hatred and separation among Peruvians, by disproportionately and unfairly condemning and qualifying other governments, because it only speaks of negative things. He wants to say that in the last 30 years Peru has not had anything good, and that is not true”, he explained.
