The former minister in the management of Jeanine Áñez, Óscar Ortiz, went this Thursday afternoon before the Prosecutor’s Office to provide his informative statement in response to a complaint filed against him by the Business Authority.
Ortiz went to the Anti-Corruption Department (DELCC) located in Plan Tres Mil, accompanied by his lawyer and told the media that his summons was as a defendant and that he would declare calmly.
After the end of his statement that lasted about two hours, the economist met the requirements of EL DEBER and announced that the complaint against him was for the approval he made in 2020, when he was a minister in the transitional management, to the Regulation of Commercial and Accounting Obligations of Merchants.
“I presented all my defenses demonstrating that all my actions were based on strict compliance with the law and that the legal analysis procedures that supported the approval of the Ministerial Resolution were followed,” Ortiz stated.
He explained that this regulation established the figure of commutation and abbreviated procedure for the payment of the sanctions imposed by the same Business Authority.
Regarding his legal situation, he responded to this journalistic house that Prosecutors will continue with the corresponding procedures and that in due course they will communicate what they will determine.
