Oscar Figuera insisted that Venezuelans can continue to count on the PCV “that pushes the struggles, the unity of the people and the resistance”, while warning that the campaign continues from those who have power to indicate that the “Red Rooster” is divided through the media
The executive secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela (CVP), Óscar Figuera, affirmed on Monday, July 24, that within the political organization there is cohesion for the defense of that party in the face of the judicial maneuver filed by some “expelled” before the Supreme Court of Justice so that the Highest Court of the country appoints a board ad hoc.
Figuera asserted that the members of the PCV met in the IV Central Committee plenary session to analyze the current situation with that party and the actions of Henry Parra, who was the leader of “Gallo Rojo” in Táchira to request the intervention of the organization.
«We have verified the cohesion of the party, the firmness and consistency of its leadership, which is committed to continuing to promote the popular struggle; the struggle with the workers and the workers, the struggle with the peasant and community movement; resistance against neoliberal policies”, he stressed.
He insisted that Venezuelans can continue to count on the PCV “which promotes the struggles, the unity of the people and the resistance,” just as he believes that the legal actions taken from that instance to denounce what is happening both inside and outside the country are correct.
He reiterated that the PCV is aware that various communist and worker parties sent a public letter addressed to President Nicolás Maduro to demand that the rights of the red tent be respected; while he warned that the campaign continues from those who have power to indicate that the “Red Rooster” is divided through the media.

“We take advantage of this opportunity to once again demand that Venezolana de Televisión, as well as various private media outlets that have lent themselves to this deceitful and abusive campaign against the Communist Party, a right to reply, as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” said Figuera.
A group of 530 people, who claim to be members of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), headed by Henry Parra, national leader of that party, attended the morning of Monday, July 10 to introduce an appeal for amparo that allows the appointment of an ad hoc board of that political organization considering that it has been kidnapped by Oscar Figuera, general secretary of the tolda, for more than 27 years.
Parra, and the group that accompanies him, consider that the current board of directors of the PCV is “illegitimate” and “illegal” because in the congress that was held in November to elect the authorities only 20% of the militancy participated, for which reason he warned that 80% of it was left out. In addition, he alleges that the organization has been turned into an “ultra-left” and that in the end “it is almost coinciding with the extreme right.”
He day 13sympathizers of the PCV related to Figuera led a protest in front of the TSJ before the eventual prosecution of the party.
“We have come to give our embrace to the Communist Party to prevent this maneuver by the Government and the PSUV from being carried out; We hope that this dirty maneuver that seeks to intervene in the PCV does not come to an end,” said journalist Manuel Isidro Molina, president of the Alternative Popular Movement.
