At the end of the afternoon of this Wednesday 25 from January, civics, platforms, activists and citizens of Oruro They participated in the National Cabildo, which began with a march in the Unión Nacional park. From there they toured the main streets of the Oruro capital, demanding respect for democracy and the release of political prisoners.
The mobilization, whose purpose was to reach the main square of Oruro, had to return to the meeting point to avoid incidents, because in that place there was a group related to the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS) who, at the top of their voices, shouted that “the right will not pass.”
The crowd gathered in the park, the president of the Oruro Civic Committee, Adolfo Camacho, read the nine questions posed to the populationwho approved the initiatives.
Initiatives include: approving an autonomous law for the election of the Ombudsman; initiate the collection of signatures so that, through a referendum, a partial reform of the Constitution is demanded; give the mandate to the Departmental Parliamentary Brigade to present, immediately, a law before the Plurinational Legislative Assembly, which allows the departmental assemblies to prepare and approve regional shortlists to preselect candidates in the different national courts.
The fourth point approved consists of demanding the government of Luis Arce Catacora to instruct and make viable an amnesty law, within a period not exceeding 30 days, that determines the release of all political prisoners in Bolivia. In case of non-compliance with this request, the population promised to actively promote a constitutional process to revoke the management of the state agent, as of May 2023. The cry was: approved! and recall!
The sixth point approved is to exhort the opposition political parties to build a single bloc for the 2025 elections. The seventh, to reject the new curricular mesh approved by the Government, before the indoctrination and imposition of ideologies.
The eighth agreed point: initiate an ex officio investigation against Evo Morales for promoting terrorist actions in Peru.
Finally, the initiative to prosecute the former governor of Oruro, Víctor Hugo Vásquez, and the perpetrators of the ambush that suffered a delegation of students and miners in Vila Vila and Challapata.
“This mandate that you are giving us, we are going to enforce it in the nine departments,” Camacho said.
