The Qualifying Commission will report the results to the nominating entities, including the Executive, Legislative and the Transparency Function.
The Qualifying Commission in charge of competition for the partial renovation of the Constitutional court made the results of the process official. Thus it was designated as new magistrates to Richard Omar Ortiz Ortiz, Joel Marlín Escudero Soliz and Ximena Alejandra Cárdenas Reyes.
They will be main judges and will replace three of the current magistrates that will leave the CC after a lottery. The seventeenth notary of Quito, Rocío García, will be the one to publicly certify that process.
The Qualifying Commission also appointed Ana Carolina Donoso Bustamante and Luis Fernando Sarango Macas as judges who will be on the eligible list.
The official designation was made after having evacuated the four review resources made by the candidates after knowing the qualifications within the process.
Vanessa Aguirre, President of the Commission, indicated that Donoso submitted a review for the 23 points obtained in his written examSarango did it for his written exam in which he obtained 15 points and merits in which he reached 14.5. Instead, Richard Ortiz filed the appeal for his qualification of merits (18) and Cárdenas did the same, also for the 16.5 points which he obtained on merit.
Four of the nine applicants resigned in previous stages; most denounced alleged “anomalies” in the process, which has been rejected by the Qualifying Commission.
The Commission will inform the nominating entities of the results: Legislative, Executive and Transparency and Social Control, as well as the president of the National Assembly, Guadalupe Llori and the Constitutional court for the possession of the winners. (DPV)
