Max Jerez is the second leader of the political group, who was also sentenced to 13 years in prison by Judge Nadia Tardencilla, under the same alleged crime of “conspiracy to undermine national integrity”, under Law 1055, Law of Defense of the Rights of the People to Independence, Sovereignty, Self-Determination for Peace, a legal framework that has a single article that the regime uses to brand its opponents as “traitors to the homeland.”
AUN members exiled and arrested
Cinthya Benavidez is another of the young members of the AUN who was forced to leave the country, given the constant sieges and threats of going to jail, for openly criticizing the Ortega y Murillo regime and demanding the freedom of the prisoners. politicians.
“Migrations have existed for years and they are not necessarily negative, a forced exile, yes, what prompted me to leave the country is above all being able to safeguard my life and that there are no freedoms in Nicaragua, despite the discouragement and discouragement that overwhelms us. , because we have friends who are incarcerated, surviving is resisting, there is still hope,” Benavidez highlighted on his social media.
Bridy Martínez, also decided to emigrate due to the lack of employment and the sociopolitical crisis that Nicaragua is facing, since April 2018.
“The crisis was caused by a dictatorship that clings to power, at the same time I thank the United States for enjoying their freedom and the protection of human rights, more and more young people are leaving the country,” said Martínez.

On November 2, members of the Nicaraguan Army Mildred Rayo and Miguel Flores were detained near the Sapoa River in Cárdenas, a municipality in the department of Rivas.
