Ortega would have removed Jaime Aráuz as mayor of El Tuma-La Dalia

The regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo ordered the dismissal of the Sandinista mayor Jaime Aráuz, who headed the Mayor’s Office of the El Tuma-La Dalia municipality, in the department of Matagalpa, according to information from lawyer Yader Morazán. The reasons for this action against one of the faithful of the presidential couple are unknown.

Morazán, an expert in the administration of justice and a former official of the Judiciary, revealed that the Ortega administration intervened in the commune through the Municipal Development Institute (Inifom), a tactic that Ortega and Murillo have used to “cleanse” the mayoralties in their power and with which the last remaining opposition communes in the country were also awarded.

Aráuz, who had been in power for more than 15 years, had once again assumed the Mayor’s Office of El Tuma-La Dalia for another term. The regime prescribed “the same dose” that he has applied against other mayors, Morazán said.

“They used the same dose that they prescribed last year with the last remaining opposition mayoralties in the country, executing the decision of the Ortega Murillos through the intervention of Inifom, leaving Vice Mayor Francis Lucila Tórrez in office. No one capeas!” Morazán wrote on his Twitter account. Twitter.

Despite the fact that the reasons for such dismissal are unknown, on the occasions that Ortega and Murillo have ordered Inifom to intervene in the mayors’ offices, it is because the leaders are being investigated for alleged corruption or embezzlement.

Such was the case of the former mayor of Río Wilfredo López and the former vice mayor Esperanza Núñez, who were forced to resign from their posts in the commune after being involved in investigations for alleged corruption.

In addition, it was recently learned that the retired general commissioner, Adolfo Marenco, head of the Police Intelligence Directorate, was imprisoned and is being held in the Judicial Assistance Directorate (DAJ), known as “El Chipote.” In that same place, the general commissioner Pedro Rodríguez Argueta, police chief of the Mining Triangle and Mulukukú, would also be detained.

The sociologist, researcher and expert in security issues Elvira Cuadra pointed out to Article 66 that after this news of the arrest of these two senior police commanders “everyone (those in the circle of power of the regime) are suspects, susceptible to being monitored and punished. They definitely can’t sleep peacefully.”

Likewise, he stressed that all the movements that the Ortega and Murillo dictatorship has made against his own points to the fact that his circle of power “is fracturing.”
