Ortega strips Colonel Juan Icaza Jiménez of his position as consul in New York

The Nicaraguan regime continues with its diplomatic “moves.” This Wednesday, April 6, Daniel Ortega dismissed Infantry Colonel Juan René Icaza Jiménez, from his position as Consul of the Republic of Nicaragua in New York City, from the United States.

Through the presidential agreement number 60-2022 published in the Official Gazette Gazette, the Nicaraguan dictatorship annulled the appointment of Icaza Jiménez. It refers that the provision takes effect from this Wednesday.

Once again, the Government of Ortega and Murillo carry out their diplomatic “movements”, but they do not say the reasons for the dismissal or who will occupy that position.

On July 10, 2017, Colonel Juan René Icaza Jiménez was appointed Consul of the Republic of Nicaragua in New York City. In the post he lasted about five years.

Ortega’s delegate was secretary of the Conference of Central American Armed Forces (CFAC), an international military organization made up of the armies of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua; in order to “contribute to the security, development and military integration of the region, carry out humanitarian operations and peacekeeping operations within the framework of the United Nations, in accordance with the legal system of each country,” they point out on their website .
