Ortega ordered the installation of a Minsa oncology center at the INCAE headquarters

The dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo ordered the installation of the Doctor Juan Ignacio Gutiérrez Sacasa National Cancer Center in the extensive and luxurious facilities of the confiscated Central American Institute of Business Administration (INCAE). According to the information disclosed by government propaganda, this new medical center of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) will be built in four phases.

INCAE, considered the most prestigious business school in Latin America, had its headquarters on a plot of land measuring more than 95 blocks in the south of Managua, approximately at kilometer 15 and a half of the Managua-El Crucero highway.

The Sandinista regime ordered the dissolution of the legal personality of INCAE through a resolution of the Ministry of the Interior (now Ministry of the Interior) published in the official newspaper La Gaceta, on September 25, 2023. In the same resolution, the dictatorship also ordered the confiscation of the assets and awarded them to the State.

According to the publication of La Gaceta, INCAE had been registered as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) on January 5, 2009, under the perpetual number 4271. For its dissolution, the Government accused the higher education institution of having been in “failure to comply with its obligations under the law” and would not have presented its financial statements for 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The Migob argued at that time that the most prestigious finance and economics study house in the region presented “inconsistencies” in the financial statements from the years 2015 to 2019, they also accused INCAE of failing to comply with the legal requirements established to receive donations and that They did not register as foreign agents.

The assault on the INCAE campus

A few minutes after the dictatorship made public the cancellation and confiscation of INCAE, police troops serving the dictators Ortega and Murillo arrived at the campus of the educational institution and occupied the facilities.

The journalistic report, citing a source from the institution, adds that the entire facility had an area of 667,350 square meters, equivalent to 95.31 blocks. «In the place there are also academic, administrative, service buildings – cafeteria, dining rooms, etc. – and residences with the capacity to house 200 students… These buildings, in addition, are equipped with various equipment, many of which were financed by agencies. international cooperation agencies and business donors from Central and South America,” Confidencial reports.

«This decision has been received with great surprise and deep sadness by the Inca community, teachers, students, graduates, collaborators, donors and members of society in general, aware of the value of the quality education that INCAE provides in our region,” INCAE said on that occasion, through a release.
