Ortega nationalizes the daughter of a former Salvadoran president who is a fugitive from justice

The dictator Daniel Ortega nationalized Nicaraguan Dolores Ivett Sánchez Villalta, daughter of the former president of El Salvador, Salvador Sánchez Cerén, a fugitive from justice in his country and to whom Ortega also gave her nationality in July of last year.

The government of President Nayib Bukele accuses the former Salvadoran president of illicit enrichment along with nine other former officials and members of the political party Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN).

According to Resolution No. 3308 of the General Directorate of Migration and Immigration (GDME) published in La Gaceta No. 67, dated April 7, 2022, the “citizen Dolores Ivett Sánchez Villalta has complied with the requirements and formalities established in the Constitution Policy of the Republic of Nicaragua to acquire Nicaraguan nationality, for being of Central American origin and having residence in the country.
