Through presidential agreement number 71-2023, published this Tuesday, June 13, in La Gaceta, the official newspaper, the dictator Daniel Ortega ordered the cancellation of the appointment of Infantry Colonel DEM Pedro Agustin Lopez Blandonin the position of Defense, Military, Naval and Air Attaché at the Embassy of Nicaragua in Venezuela.
The position of the Nicaraguan Army delegate was contained in Presidential Agreement No. 06-2021, dated January 13, 2021, an appointment that lasted a little over two years.

Likewise, Ortega, through presidential agreement number 72-2023, ordered the assignment of the position to Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry DEM Carlos Antonio Mayorga Reyes.
Article two of this agreement states that the order of the Nicaraguan dictatorship takes effect as of its publication in La Gaceta, the official gazette.
As is the custom of the Government of Nicaragua, when it makes movements of high officials, it did not inform the reasons for the changes, it only orders that they be complied with.

This is not the first time that Ortega has made moves in the Nicaraguan Army; In November 2022, he appointed Colonel of the Nicaraguan Army, Freddy Domingo Cerrato González, as defense, military, naval and air attache of the Nicaraguan Embassy in the Russian Federation, according to presidential agreement 163-2022, published in The Gazette No. 213 this Monday, November 14.
The military institution, led by General Julio Cesar Aviles Castillo, has been accused of being one of the repressive arms of the Ortega y Murillo regime in the repression against Nicaraguans. She has also sworn fidelity to him.
