Daniel Ortega appointed Sidhartha Francisco Marín Aráuz, as the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Nicaragua to the Republic of Honduras, after removing his faithful ally Valdrack Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker, who lasted less than three months in the post.
According to publication in The GazetteThrough presidential agreement number 80-2022, Ortega appointed Marín as the new ambassador in Tegucigalpa. The regime official had been appointed as ambassador to Cuba, but he removed him from that position just 12 days after exercising it, on December 6, 2021, without giving any reason.

Marín had been appointed ambassador to Cuba since November 24 as the successor to Luis Cabrera González, the first and only ambassador that Daniel Ortega has appointed to the post since 2007, the year he returned to power and reestablished relations with the island. But the position lasted very little.
As a diplomat, he has also served as permanent representative of Nicaragua with the rank of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the United Nations (UN), according to presidential agreement 125-2018.
He was ambassador of Nicaragua in Ecuador, cultural attaché with consular functions in Peru, concurrent in Bolivia, Ecuador and Paraguay. He is also in charge of political, protocol and commercial issues. Later he assumed the embassy of Peru as chargé d’affaires.

Ortega dismissed Valdrack Jaentschke from February 28, according to the presidential agreement of the official newspaper, at that time the Presidency did not inform who would occupy his position. His “decapitation” took place 24 hours after the same dictatorship stripped him of his position as Minister Counselor with consular functions of the Nicaraguan Embassy in the Catracho country.
It was not the first time that the regime removed the diplomat from his positions, since more than 20 times he has been removed. These “moves” of the Nicaraguan regime at the international level have been more constant since the beginning of 2022, after the fourth presidential inauguration of Daniel Ortega.
