During his speech, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Air Force, Ortega emphasized that the emissary of the Department of State “clandestine wine”, which is why he refused to receive it.
The US official “was here in Nicaragua” and “wanted to meet now,” Ortega commented. However, “I told him that he would have to come through official channels. The attempted rapprochement mentioned by Ortega had already been revealed by the American newspaper The New York Times, which indicated that last March, the regime of Ortega and Rosario Murillo, through his son Laureano Ortega Murillo, “quietly approached Washington” to seek a dialogue, although the agreed meeting never came to fruition. be carried out

Condemns Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan
Ortega also condemned US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan and described the event as “an insane act”, “an invasion” and “a provocation”.
“This step that they have taken today, which we have logically condemned, has no other qualification than an insane act, of those who feel that the empire is collapsing, they are acts of the Hitlers, who feel that they are losing positions and launching themselves against the Republic People’s China… it’s an invasion, it’s a crime,” the Nicaraguan president stressed.
