According to sources from the elected government, the members are already 50% defined, and so far three names have been made public: Gabriel Oddone as Minister of Economy, Alejandro Sánchez as Secretary of the Presidency and Jorge Díaz as Pro-Secretary of the Presidency.
Orsi pointed out that for the selection of ministers and undersecretaries, key factors are being considered such as technical capacity, political commitment, gender parity, internal balances in the Frente Amplio, and the impact on departmental elections and on the composition of the Senate. In this sense, from those around them they assure that gender parity will be “fairly” achieved, although it will not necessarily be reflected in a representation proportional to the results of the sectors in the national elections.
The transition team, headed by Orsi, continues in meetings with the different sectors of the Frente Amplio to define the remaining positions. The complete list, made up of 28 ministers and undersecretaries, is expected to be closed by Monday, December 16.
