Orsi attended this Friday, June 10, at the inauguration of the remodeling works of the headquarters building of the Municipality of Toledo.
In this framework, the head of the Canarian government was consulted by the press about the proposal for the artificial island, which was approved by the Executive, but rejected by the Municipality of Montevideo and the proposals of pro-government legislators to transfer it to other departments of the country.
In statements to VTV, he said that he has listened to legislators or government authorities who propose taking the project to Canelones or Colonia, for which he assured that “the issue is not being analyzed seriously.”
“Something of such magnitude needs serious treatment, and I will give my opinion when studies are done on the project,” he said.
Orsi stated that there is something that everyone should know and that is that the studies have not been done. “They are passing the cap or making a cow to get 3 million dollars to do the studies.”
“That’s it, I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, if you don’t have the studies I have no idea, I can’t comment,” he remarked.
He assured that the day the studies are done, he will be able to give his opinion.

Orsi acknowledged that he likes investments. “It is good that large or medium investments come to Canelones, that generate work. But that government authorities or legislators begin to speak loosely about the body without having analyzed that there are no studies done, it seems to me that it generates expectations in the population that people do not deserve.
