During the event, Orsi valued the fundamental role of these groups, highlighting that the direct contact of health workers with citizens strengthens and enriches the Frente Amplio proposal, by reflecting the real needs of the people.
“What you are showing us is that we have to roll up our sleeves and go out and do what we always liked to do, which is to talk with the citizens to convince one more and another… that our proposal is what our people need,” he expressed. Orsi. He thanked those present for their constant support and their willingness to be there “when the country needs it.”
At the meeting, health workers raised three key demands: improve the quality of care and reduce waiting times, ensure access to medications, and prioritize mental health.
Among those present were important figures in the sector, such as the former president of the Medical Union of Uruguay (SMU), Zaida Arteta; the former president of the State Health Services Administration (ASSE), Marcos Carámbula; and the former Ministers of Public Health, Jorge Basso and Susana Muñiz.
