Orsi’s entourage had initially reported that the meeting would take place this Tuesday, but scheduling problems forced the appointment to be postponed. As reported this Tuesday, the meeting at the Executive Tower, located in Plaza Independencia, could take place tomorrow, Wednesday morning.
Orsi has indicated that his government’s priorities will be security, economy, health, education, child poverty and social security. Within this framework, it continues to hold meetings and contacts to form a transition team that will be formally presented to the outgoing government, with the aim of beginning to work on organizing the teams by specific areas.
On Monday, Orsi visited former president José Mujica and his wife Lucía Topolansky at their farm in Rincón del Cerro, as part of the political dialogues and consultations he has maintained since his election.
For his part, President Lacalle Pou called a meeting of the Council of Ministers for this Tuesday at 4 p.m., in which he plans to address key issues of the current management within the framework of the closure of his administration.
The dialogue between both leaders seeks to mark the beginning of an orderly and productive transition, in which it is expected to address the main priorities that the president-elect has highlighted for his mandate.
