Oriente Petrolero faces a critical situation under the direction of Joaquín Monasterio, who has decided to remain in his position despite speculation about his possible resignation. After the recent draw against Independiente, some partisan media suggested that the coach could step aside.

However, Monasterio contacted El Deber Sport to confirm that he will continue to lead the team. “We are going to train on Saturday and Sunday; “The group is firm and we will go out to win on Monday,” he stated.

The uncertainty surrounding the continuity of Monasterio is due to the deep economic and institutional crisis that Oriente Petrolero is going through. Players and coaching staff have expressed concerns about unpaid wages, which range from 5 to 10 months. This situation has generated an atmosphere of discontent, affecting the morale of the team and its performance on the field.

The club’s president, Ronald Raldes, has not yet officially commented on the team’s situation or the players’ demands. However, he has submitted a letter requesting leave, leaving the interim presidency in the hands of the first vice president, René Urioste. The lack of clarity in the club’s management has fueled tensions among fans, who a few weeks ago requested in a letter that Raldes resign from his position.

Despite the challenges, Monasterio is optimistic and committed to the team. “We will continue training, we are firm,” said the technical director, highlighting the dedication of the players despite the adversities. The fans have also shown their support for the team, although with growing frustration towards the administrative management.
