Santo Domingo, DR.- The Dominican Federation of Municipalities (Fedomu) and the Dominican Municipal League (LMD) recognized this Wednesday the management of Armando Paíno Henríquez as director of the Public Private Trust for the Comprehensive Management of Solid Waste (Do Sostenible).
Representatives of both municipal entities and mayors present highlighted that Paíno Henríquez “supported the transformation of solid waste sites and final destination of solid waste” active in various points of the national territory.
For his part, Paíno Henríquez, who will assume the role of Minister of Environment and Natural Resources as of next Friday, August 16, pledged to continue his support for the municipality as allies for the strengthening and preservation of the natural resources of the Dominican Republic.
“I am now the Minister of the Environment, but President of the Board of Directors of the Sustainable DO Trust. This will continue. I can tell you, I don’t know if I will be the first or the second, but after this experience that I have lived through, the Dominican Republic has a municipalist Minister of the Environment,” said Henríquez.
It is recalled that the appointment of Armando Paíno Henríquez was made through decree 434-24, on August 2, indicating that the movement will come into effect as of August 16.
Paíno Henríquez graduated in Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM, 1995-1999), in International Commercial Law from the University of Manchester LL. M, (England, 2000–2001), and in French as a Second Language from the University of Paris (La Sorbonne, 2002).
