It consists of the publication of radio messages that “contribute to the construction of the historical memory of Nicaragua”, aimed at demanding once again “justice, truth, reparation and non-repetition to the victims and their families, and freedom for all people”. political prisoners.
“This time the campaign presents the messages in radio cartoons, completing the previous campaigns in which audiovisual materials were used to highlight the demand for justice and freedom for Nicaragua,” the agency explained.

There are at least six cartoons that will be published periodically, in which they will report on various rights such as respect for the physical, mental and moral integrity of people and how the regime violates those of political prisoners.

On this day, the Center for Transdisciplinary Studies of Central America (cetcam) also recalled that, “despite the challenges that exist today, it is possible to build a better Central America in the future for the development of youth, women, children and social minorities.”
Meanwhile, campaign activists «Be human» They carried out an experiment that consisted of virtually connecting relatives of political prisoners from different countries so that, through their stories told among themselves, the feelings of the affected families and their imprisoned relatives became visible.
According to the Mechanism for the Recognition of Political Prisoners in Nicaragua, in the country there are around 235 people deprived of their liberty for political reasons, the majority (225) detained after the social protests that began in April 2018. As of November 30, this year there were 209 men and 26 women incarcerated.
