Distributors of OrdenYa have declared themselves on “indefinite unemployment” and protested on Tuesday in front of the headquarters of the multinational in Costa del Este, due to the poor working conditions they suffer and that have been aggravated by factors such as the sustained increase in fuel prices.

Carlos Villegas, spokesman for the workers, said Wednesday on Radio Panama that on Tuesday they held a meeting with company authorities and lawyers of the parties involved, but no agreements were reached.

He mentioned that they demand a fee of $3.50 per order that has been reduced to $1.25, an accident insurance, and that the company offer the work material, among other requests collected in a ten-point list.

According to Villegas, for the moment they have not received any more calls from the company to sit down again at the dialogue table and be able to lift the strike.
