A cloud of orange smoke from the forest fires in Canada covers the sky of several cities in the eastern United States (USA), this situation has prompted the authorities to warn residents of both countries of the dangerous and unhealthy from air.
In the US, about 55 million people are under alert due to poor air quality.
Reports indicate that metropolitan areas such as Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are affected by orange smoke, to the point that governors have told people to avoid leaving their residences unless necessary.
The air quality index (AQI) in Philadelphia was at 205 as of Wednesday morning, which is classified as “very unhealthy.”
Also New York, Jersey City (NJ) and New Haven (Connecticut) had “unhealthy” AQIs ranging from 155 to 171 on Wednesday morning.
While on Tuesday New York City recorded the worst air pollution in the world due to fires in Canada.
