The National Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued this Saturday afternoon alerts orange and yellow due to strong storms for several locations in the country.
It is due to a “atmospheric disturbance associated with moist and unstable air mass” that affects the country “generating storms, some punctually strong,” he said.
“It should be noted that in storm zones intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail falls, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind,” the agency said.
Inumet will update the alert at 10:30 p.m. or in case of possible changes.

Paysandu: Beisso, Casa Blanca, Cerro Chato, Chacras de Paysandú, Chapicuy, Colonia Nuevo Paysandú, Constancia, Esperanza, Gallinal, Guayabos, Guichón, Lorenzo Geyres, Merinos, Orgoroso, Paysandú, Piedras Coloradas, Porvenir, Quebracho, San Félix and Termas de Guaviyu.
Black river: Algorta, General Borges, Menafra, Paso de los Mellizos, Sarandí de Navarro and Villa María.
Jump: Albisu, Campo de Todos, Cerro de Vera, Colonia 18 de Julio, Colonia Itapebí, Garibaldi, Itapebí, Puntas de Valentín, Salto, San Antonio and Termas del Daymán.

Inumet also issued a yellow alert for other locations in the country.
The affected towns are:
Peach: Centennial and Centennial Town.
Paysandu: Drums.
Black river: Young.
Jump: Biassini, Cayetano, Constitución, Lluveras, Quintana, Rincón de Valentín and Saucedo.
Tacuarembo: Achar, Arerungua, Balneario Iporá, Cerro Chato, Cuchilla de Peralta, Curtina, La Pedrera, Paso Bonilla, Paso de los Toros, Piedra Sola, Rincón del Bonete, Sauce de Batoví, Tacuarembó and Tambores.
