An orange alert for heavy rains, electrical activity and gusts of wind was issued by the National Meteorological Service for CABA, suburban Buenos Aires, north of the province of Buenos Aires and south of Chubut.
Starting this morning, strong or locally severe storms are forecast in those areas, which may be accompanied by very strong gusts, intense electrical activity, occasional hail and, fundamentally, abundant water falls in short periods.
The SMN predicted accumulated precipitation values between 70 and 80 millimeters, which could be exceeded in a timely manner.
In the south of Chubut, the orange alert is linked to strong winds from the west with speeds between 60 and 75 km/h, with gusts that can exceed 120 km/h.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert is in force for the Atlantic coast and the center of the province of Buenos Aires, sectors of Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán, Catamarca, La Rioja, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, San Luis, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro , Chubut and Santa Cruz.
The bad weather in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires will improve towards tomorrow afternoon.
