Oppositionist Karla Vega serves five days in prison and without family contact

It was learned that the relatives of the 43-year-old citizen have brought her food and some pieces of clothing, but as for the visit, the police officers inform them that “there is no authorization.”

One of the concerns of a person close to the opponent is that Karla Vega suffers from hypertension and has a bascular thrombosis in her right leg, for which it is urgent that she receive her medicines.

On the other hand, an informant revealed that before Vega was arbitrarily detained, police agents came to “surround” his home, took photographs and then left.

“A commissioner was visiting Karla —Vega— and her family,” said the source, without specifying the reasons for the visit or how long the siege lasted.

The arrest against Vega occurred one day before the disputed municipal elections held on November 6, where the Ortega regime won the 153 mayorships in the country.

Although Karla Vega —who is a housewife— does not belong to any opposition group, sources point out that she did participate in the 2018 social protests against the Nicaraguan government.
