“Even with this racket, we will continue the session,” Noroña replied. He then asked for the volume of the microphones to be turned up.

Meanwhile, protesters clashed with police in the capital trying to enter the Xicoténcatl mansion. The police managed to contain them.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City reported that in order to protect the physical integrity of workers, senators, media and other people, as well as to facilitate the development of the session, an operational deployment was carried out in the vicinity of the Old Senate Headquarters, on Xicoténcatl Avenue, in the Historic Center.

He pointed out that the operational personnel do not use gas of any kind, they only wear their personal protective equipment consisting of helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, shields and fire extinguishers, to mitigate any type of fire that may occur.

The legislators left for the alternate headquarters after protesters managed to get past Senate security and enter the room where the discussion was taking place.
