Opposition does not rule out alliances in the face of presidential elections

Opposition does not rule out alliances in the face of presidential elections

The Guasu Front, with other progressive sectors, promotes a process of unity called “Ñemongeta”. The objective is to form a solid bloc to present itself to the entire electoral process, along with the offer made by an opposition bloc. Or, alternatively, negotiate with the rest of the opposition a possible unity.

Jorge Querey, national senator, affirmed on the first, that the process is well advanced, and that they are traveling all over the country.

“Progressivism must play a fundamental role in the government in 2023. It must aim for the presidency of the Republic,” he said.

The doctor pointed out that they will present from a presidential badge to candidates for departmental boards. This does not mean that they rule out allies within an opposition bloc in the face of the next presidential elections.

“Before forming large alliances we want to know clearly what they are going to look for because this is where the differences exist,” he warned.

The legislator alluded to issues that deal with the criminalization of land, public health and educational policies, free and of quality. Also with starting the national cadastre process, the fight against corruption, the issue of housing, indigenous peoples and more.

“We have to agree on at least five to 10 strategic points, but from the beginning we intend to present our own presidential badge,” he said.

DIFFICULTIES

Querey pointed out that an association with sectors that defend the criminalization of social struggle or an association with a sector that permanently accuses them of kidnappers and murderers is implantable. This, in clear allusion to the senators of the Patria Querida party.

“The political criticisms that we make are of models that defend, or revise that, or we have no chance. We are not going to make alliances that go against the sectors that we have historically defended, such as peasants, indigenous people, the homeless, women, youth and more, ”he said.

DIFFERENT POSTURE

Fernando Camacho, president of the National Encounter party (PEN), unlike the senator of the FG, highlighted the incorporation of the Patria Querida party to the table of opposition parties. Fact that was announced just last week.

“We thought that many parties were not going to take part, but it was not like that. Their participation allows us to think about a great agreement with macro proposals. Work based on coincidences and not on differences ”, he stated.

He said that health, education, security and energy management should be the priority when putting together programmatic axes.

“This is the only thing that will allow building an electoral alliance. We are different parties and we have many differences. Now, if we focus on central issues, there we do have many coincidences, “he said.

PDP

Guillermo Ferreiro, president of the Febrerista Revolutionary Party (PRF), said that the alliance is going very well, much better and faster than they thought, but there are still many points to agree on.

He pointed out that the legal question (alliance, agreement or mixed system) and agreeing on a government program to rescue the Republic are the most difficult points that must be resolved.

“We are still discussing, the best option will be the one that guarantees participation and transparency,” he concluded.
