Opposition disappears polls that give Maduro the victory

The strategy of the extremist sector of the Venezuelan opposition, which seeks to manipulate the perception of the electorate by using polls that give its candidate, Edmundo González, the victory, loses its effect when it is revealed that in its own polls, the candidate Nicolás Maduro emerges as the winner.

This Sunday it was learned that the survey promoted by the digital media La Patilla on the social network X, with the question “If the elections were this Sunday, who would you vote for?”, published with a pinned post in its thread and which had the participation of 95,050 users, gave Nicolás Maduro the winner with 72% of the votes while Edmundo González obtained 26%.

Given the unfavorable result for this opposition sector, the news portal deleted the post, however, a screenshot with the data has been spread on social networks and has generated ridicule from users. The Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, shared a message on the social network X where he shows the deletion of the post “due to the public failure” of this consultation, he said.

The minister also referred to another survey made by journalist Eugenio Martínez on the same social network X, through a poll on July 14 in which the majority of users gave 99% of votes to Maduro.

The general coordinator of the Venezuela Nuestra Campaign Command, Jorge Rodríguez, revealed on Friday the conclusions of the polling firm Datanálisis regarding a survey that it conducted at the request of the opposition sector that supports Edmundo González, the result of which is that Maduro wins the presidential election.

Rodriguez, who also presented several Polls where Maduro is projected as the winnerHe also referred to the results of a survey carried out in the United States by the Polymarket market platform, based on decentralized predictions where users make bets on world events, which also gives Maduro the victory with 70% of the votes.

He also denounced that the multinational communications company, CNN, is orchestrating a media plan with the Democratic Unity Platform (PUD) that will ignore the results announced by the National Electoral Council on Sunday, July 28.

Last Thursday, Biagio Pilieri, spokesperson for the PUD, informed the media that they will only recognize the results of the minutes that they prepare on election day.

Weeks ago, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, warned about the use of the poll war with manipulated data by the opposition to inflate its numbers and theoretically influence the voting intention in favor of Edmundo González.

Private and foreign media have disseminated these surveys, which some specialists attribute to a structural problem in their statistical sample, while dismissing other polls such as those by Hinterlaces, ICS, Dataviva and Ideadatos, which give Maduro the victory and clearly present their technical data sheet in which they explain the type of sampling, sample size, level of confidence and margin of error.

On Sunday, Rodríguez responded to a statement from the Foreign Press Association accredited in Venezuela denouncing that “the extreme right, fascism, the Venezuelan ultra-right is prepared to not recognize the truth and to not recognize the election results.”
